Blast from the Past: London II.

I love London and for that reason I think it deserves to be featured in my Blast from the Past series for the second time. This particular set of photos was made in November 2014, when I visited London with my husband and friend in order to attend the UEFA Qualifier football match between England and Slovenia. We didn’t just support Slovenian team at the Wembley, but we’d also (re)explored this awesome town.

Iceland. Day 4: The Golden Circle

On our fourth day in Iceland, my husband and I took a tour almost every tourist in Iceland does – the Golden Circle, a circle route comprising Iceland’s natural wonders: Þingvellir National ParkGeysir & Gulfoss waterfall. As those three sights were not enough for us, we’ve added Kerið Crater and Brúarfoss waterfall as additional stops on our tour.

Football fever in Lyon

In July, when UEFA Euro 2016 in France was in full swing, my husband, who is a big football (soccer) fan, asked me if I want to attend one of the matches of the tournament. Of course, I would never say no to attending one of the biggest sports event of this summer so we started planning our trip.

At the time, there were still many matches at the tournament to be played. After considering our schedules and the convenience of the locations of the venues, we decided to attend the semi-final match held at the Stade des Lumières in Lyon. At the time, we didn’t know which two teams are going to play. With the progress of the tournament it became known our match will be the played between Wales and Portugal. Because my father-in-law is huge fan of Portugal’s star player Christiano Ronaldo, he expressed the interest in him and and mother-in-law joining us. Just the few days before the match, we somehow manage to buy the additional two tickets for them. We’ve booked them the plane tickets and voila, what was meant to be trip of two, became a family trip. Continue reading

Traditional Slovenian Wedding

Previous weekend, my husband and I traveled to Slovenia to attend a wedding of our dear friends. The wedding was held in the north-eastern part of Slovenia in a region between rivers Drava and Mura called Prlekija. The traditions in this area are still very much alive and our friends got married in a traditional way.

Summer evening in Luzern

Few days ago, when the sunny weather and summer temperatures finally reached Switzerland, I went for an evening cycle ride around Lucerne. Despite I already walked and cycled those areas many times before, I massively enjoyed the ride. It was great to rediscover the beauty of the place I now call home on such a lovely evening.

Hope you’ll enjoy the photos I took during my ride as much as I enjoyed making them.

Lake Lucerne or Vierwaldstättersee as it is called in German is the fourth largest lake in Switzerland.

Blast from the Past: Bellinzona

Blast from the Past is back! Today I’m taking you back to the warm days of early September 2010 when my husband and I visited beautiful town of Bellinzona in Italian speaking part of Switzerland.

Bellinzona is the Capital of Ticino and is a home of one of the most beautiful UNESCO World Heritage sites in Switzerland: Three Castles, Defensive Wall and Ramparts of the Market-town of Bellinzona. Here are some of the photos my husband and I took during our trip: Continue reading

Trip to Iceland: Overview

At the beginning, I would like to thank all of you who assisted me with tips and suggestions for my trip to Iceland  They were extremely helpful in deciding on what to do and see! Thank you!

Now, a little bit about my trip… My husband and I explored Iceland from 3rd to 7th May 2016. 5 days were not nearly enough to see everything what Iceland has to offer, but it was enough to get the sense how wild, pristine and stunningly beautiful this country is.
