Blast from the Past: Deià

Today’s Blast from the Past post is taking you to Spain, more precise to the island of Mallorca where my husband and I spent some great time back in September 2012. This set of photos were made in a lovely coastal village of Deià – one of Mallorca’a gems we’ve had a pleasure to visit.

Blast from the Past: Florianópolis

Today’s Blast from the Past post is taking you back to November 2009, when my boyfriend (now husband) and I travelled around Brazil. After São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Iguazu Falls, we’ve stopped at the capital of Santa Catarina state – at Florianópolis.

Floripa, as Florianópolis is sometime called, is famous for its beautiful scenery and long sandy beaches. We spent our time there meeting my boyfriend’s university classmates, exploring the area and relaxing at some of those beautiful beaches. Because my boyfriend loves football (soccer) and Brazil is the “the country of football” we also attended a football match. We saw Florianópolis’ team Avai playing against Santos FC from São Paulo.

Blast from the Past: Colmar

December is here it’s time for the Christmas related Blast from the Past post. Last year in the early December, my husband and I went to Colmar with our friends. We visited its famous Christmas Market and we loved it.

Colmar is fairy-tale-like town full of gorgeous buildings. Decorated with Christmas lights and decorations and accompanied by the smell of mulled wine coming from its Christmas Market is a great place to visit in December. Continue reading

Blast from the Past: Palma de Mallorca

When the days are getting shorter and shorter it is time for Blast from the Past post to take you back to warmer days of September 2012. Back then, I’d just submitted my master’s thesis and travelled to Mallorca Island with my boyfriend (now husband). We’ve spent our well deserved holidays enjoying beautiful beaches and exploring lovely towns and villages. This particular set of photos was taken in island’s capital Palma where we’ve stayed for a few days.

Blast from the Past: Giza Plateau

Today’s Blast from the Past post is taking you back to September 2006 when I first time left Europe to visit Egypt in North Africa. I’ve spent most of my holidays relaxing at the beach in Hurgada. But, when in Egypt it would be a shame not to dedicate at least a day for exploring the ancient Egyptian heritage. Where else to go than to Giza, where the most famous monuments from the ancient Egypt era – the Pyramids and the Sphinx – can be found.

Here are some photos we took while exploring the Giza Plateau:

Blast from the Past: Bern

Today’s Blast from the Past post is taking you to one of my favourite Swiss cities, to Bern. Despite I have visited this city on many occasions, I still like to return. I love its vibe and I can never get bored of its picturesque buildings, medieval arcades, fountains, majestic cathedral and beautiful river. This particular set of photos was taken two years ago in the autumn when my husband (then boyfriend) and I visited Bern Old Town to meet a friend.
