2015 – A Year in Review

The year is slowly coming to an end. Looking back, the memories of 2015 brings smile on my face. Although I’ve faced some difficult moments, was 2015 a year I will never forget. I got married to love of my life, I’ve travelled and explored new unknown places and revisited some of the places I already visited, and last but not least, I’ve started writing Slovenian Girl Abroad blog.

Let’s do a quick recap of 2015:

  • I’ve visited two new countries: Japan and Netherlands, biding goodbye to 2015 with total count of 24 visited countries.
  • I’ve stepped at the Asian continent for the first time.

Short but sweet trip to Amsterdam

Amsterdam was one of the places I longed to visit for a long time. No wonder, I didn’t want to miss the opportunity joining my husband at his short business trip to capital of Netherlands.

Flying from Basel airport, we arrived at the Schiphol airport late in the afternoon. We went straight to the hotel nearby airport we’ve booked. Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam

Rijskmuseum is national museum presenting Dutch art and history from the Middle Ages to the present day. Its rich collection consists of about one million artworks and historical objects, of which only eight thousand are being put to display. At four floors of an amazing old building visitors can admire not only some of the masterpieces by Rembrandt, Johannes Vermeer, Van Gogh et others, but also interesting objects presenting Dutch heritage and history. As such, it could be said, Rijksmuseum is a Dutch equivalent of English British Museum, French Louvre and Swiss Schweizerisches Nationalmuseum.
