Hi, I’m Urška and I’m a crazy cat lady. I also love to travel. Wherever in the world I meet feline creature I try to befriend it or at least take a picture of it. No wonder there are plenty of cat photos in my photo library. Here below are some of those pictures of the cuties I’ve met and photographed on my travels:
In July, when UEFA Euro 2016 in France was in full swing, my husband, who is a big football (soccer) fan, asked me if I want to attend one of the matches of the tournament. Of course, I would never say no to attending one of the biggest sports event of this summer so we started planning our trip.
At the time, there were still many matches at the tournament to be played. After considering our schedules and the convenience of the locations of the venues, we decided to attend the semi-final match held at the Stade des Lumières in Lyon. At the time, we didn’t know which two teams are going to play. With the progress of the tournament it became known our match will be the played between Wales and Portugal. Because my father-in-law is huge fan of Portugal’s star player Christiano Ronaldo, he expressed the interest in him and and mother-in-law joining us. Just the few days before the match, we somehow manage to buy the additional two tickets for them. We’ve booked them the plane tickets and voila, what was meant to be trip of two, became a family trip. Continue reading

Today’s Blast from the Past post is taking you to the the city of lights, to Paris. This set of photos was made during the sunny and warm weekend in May 2014 when my boyfriend and I surprised his mother with a birthday trip to Paris, a destination she had desired to visit for a long time.
Every year UNESCO World Heritage Committee gather to discuss the world heritage. One of their tasks is to discuss cultural and natural sites of outstanding universal value submitted by the state parties. If those sites meet one or more of 10 criteria they can be included on the World Heritage List. This year UNESCO World Heritage met for its 39th session in Bonn, Germany. Out of the 36 sites that were examined this year, 24 sites from Mexico, Italy, Korea, Jordan, France, Denmark, Iran, Turkey, Uruguay, Mongolia, Israel, Norway, Saudi Arabia, USA, Singapore, Japan, Germany, UK, China and Jamaica were granted world heritage status, increasing the total number of world heritage sites to 1,031. Up to date, I had a chance to visit 41 of them. Here is my pick of 10 sites (in random order) I liked the best: Continue reading
I used to live in Paris for a short period when I was doing my internship and it grew to my heart. Although I moved away after completing my job, I kept returning to this charming city.
Here is a list of my favourite touristy things to do in Paris:
