Video: Autumn Sunday at Stoos

A while ago my husband and I went to Stoos, a small car free village in the mountains of Central Switzerland. As you might remember, I’ve already wrote about this trip, but I haven’t show you the video I made. I finally managed to edit it (it took ages, I know) and here it is. Hope you’ll enjoy it!

Have you ever been to Stoos? Would you go?

Chocolat Frey Visitor Centre in Buchs, Switzerland

Switzerland is country well worth a visit not only for its majestic mountains, beautiful lakes, and lovely cities, but also for delicious Swiss chocolate. One of the places where the public is allowed to see how chocolates are made, and of course eat some chocolate is Chocolat Frey Visitor Centre in Buchs, close to Aargau. I’ve visited this chocolate experience few months ago and would highly recommend it to sweet-tooths of all ages.

Winter stroll around the Tribschen quartier in Luzern

It has been a while since I last virtually took you around Luzern. Way too long! For that reason, I took my camera with me when I went for a walk around the Triebschen neighbourhood few days ago. I snapped some photos of this lovely area I would now like to share with you.

German name for Lake Lucerne is der Vierwaldstättersee, French is Lac des Quatre-Cantons, Italian Lago dei Quattro Cantoni and Rhaeto-Romanic Lai dals Quatter Chantuns – all can be roughly translated as “the lake of the four cantons”.

2017 – A Year in Review

It seems to me every year goes by faster. It seems like I wrote recap for 2016 yesterday and not a year ago. Now is again end of the year and time to look back at all the amazing trips and travels of 2017:

  • I’ve visited 4 new countries: Cambodia, Serbia, Singapore & Thailand, stepping into 2018 with the total count of 30 visited countries
  • I swam in the Andaman sea for the first time

Ta Phrom Temple. Siem Reap, Cambodia (November 2017)

  • The longest time I’ve been away from home in 2017 was 14-days long trip to SE Asia in October and November

Perfect Start into the Ski Season at Melchsee Frutt

Winter came to Europe early this year. First snow covered the mountains and allowed many non-glacier ski resorts in the Alps to open earlier than usual. My husband and I took advantage of this situation and started our ski season on the first weekend in December. As this was also the weekend of my birthday, we celebrated it while swishing down the perfectly prepared slopes of my favoured ski resort Melchsee-Frutt in Central Switzerland.

Love/hate affair with Autumn

Autumn is not my favourite season. I always have a hard time to accept the fact that summer is over. Every day gets shorter and darker. The weather is just the worst: cold, with a lot of rain and fog. It takes ages to get dressed in all the layers of clothing needed to go outside. Sometimes, I would just want to go hibernate until spring.

Golden autumn foliage in Zermatt, Switzerland

But autumn is not all that awful. Autumn festivals, pumpkins, apple pies, and roasted chestnuts makes this season bearable. Colourful sunsets are gorgeous and changing of the leaves create beautiful scenery. Yes, I have to admit, autumn is the most colourful time of the year and as such can be truly glorious.

Otočec Castle Wedding

I guess I’ve reached this age when most of my friends already decided or are deciding to tie the knot. In mid-August my husband and I attended wedding of our dear friends held at the gorgeous Otočec castle in Dolenjska Region (Lower Carniola Region) in the South-Eastern Slovenia.

Dolenjska is often overlooked, but is with its charming landscape of green meadows, vineyards, vast woods, green rivers and lovely towns with rich cultural heritage, well worth a visit. Continue reading

Unforgettable trip to Istanbul

If you live in Europe or you are basketball fan, you might have heard European basketball championship or EuroBasket 2017 came to an end on 17th September in the most amazing way I could imagine.
