Ski Season 2017/18 – Summary

It seems like winter finally bid goodbye to the Northern hemisphere. Most of ski resorts have already stopped operating their lifts and shut down their slopes. Looking back, this ski season was amazing in terms of ski conditions, but I haven’t skied as much as I hoped I would. Even though, I’ve managed to revisit two of my favourite ski resorts (Grindelwald & Melchsee Frutt) and visited two new resorts (Lenzerheide & Stoos):

  • Melchsee-Frutt (December 2017)
  • Jungfrau Region – Kleine Scheidegg – Männlichen (February 2018)
  • Stoos (March 2018)
  • Lenzerheide (March 2018)

    Total: 4 days of skiing

All in all, even though I skied less than in previous seasons (2016/17, 2015/16 & 2014/15), I spent some really awesome time at the slopes.

See some of the impressions from my trips in the following photos and videos:

Perfect day (Melchsee Frutt, December 2017)

Skiing above the clouds (Grindelwald, February 2018)

Stoos is small, but adorable ski resort (March 2018)

Amazing scenery (Grindelwald, February 2018)

One of many ski pistes runs right next to the railway to Jungfraujoch (Grindelwald, February 2018)

Lenzerheide slopes (Lenzerheide, March 2018)

Final day of skiing (Lenzerheide, March 2018)

How beautiful! I miss skiing already, although I just returned from a ski trip in February. I visited Grindelwald some years ago in May and ski season was still in full swing. It had been a very long winter that year. #TheWeeklyPostcard

Lenzerheide doesn’t look very crowded, is it always like this or just cause it was March? I love skiing ( as a teenager I preferred snowboard, but then switched to skis). I’ve never tried skiing in Switzerland – would love to check the slopes there one day! #TheWeeklyPostcard

Beautiful photos, Urska. You’re lucky to be able to go skiing relatively often although four days doesn’t seem too much. Enjoy the mountains over the spring and summer. I’m looking forward to reading about your non snowy adventures over the next few months. Thanks for sharing on #FarawayFiles

I always love your photos, such beautiful places and great memories of this season. It almost makes me want to start skiing-although I would be really really bad at it! Thank you for sharing with us #AdventureCalling

I’ve skied in Italy for the past few seasons and really enjoyed it, only ever driving through Switzerland to get there. I will definitely have to make a point of skiing in Switzerland sometime soon though as it looks gorgeous. Thanks for joining us on #adventurecalling, We open again for new posts tomorrow morning.

Those views are incredible! Unfortunately, I’ve only ever gone skiing twice in my life, which is a shame… so at least you made it 4 times just in the last year! Looks like some great experiences, thanks for sharing your adventures! #TheWeeklyPostcard
