Autumn is not my favourite season. I always have a hard time to accept the fact that summer is over. Every day gets shorter and darker. The weather is just the worst: cold, with a lot of rain and fog. It takes ages to get dressed in all the layers of clothing needed to go outside. Sometimes, I would just want to go hibernate until spring.
But autumn is not all that awful. Autumn festivals, pumpkins, apple pies, and roasted chestnuts makes this season bearable. Colourful sunsets are gorgeous and changing of the leaves create beautiful scenery. Yes, I have to admit, autumn is the most colourful time of the year and as such can be truly glorious.
He he…guess where you were….Autumn Fair…ha ha. Was wonderful!
As for the sunset looking out on the Pilatus…hmmm, you’re forgiven for being on town over… he he. Just teasing. Stunning shots. Love the Schaffhausen shot with the spiderweb.
It is so gorgeous at the moment (well, hmmm, today is questionable)…the colours are divine.

Hi Urska,
Yes, summer is free and easy, but the Autumn colours are magical and the food sounds like a good reward :).

Autumn sounds like a pretty time still! I appreciate seasons more when I travel because we don’t have any seasons at all in Singapore. At least the season will be over soon and you can look forward to the next one. Here it’s just between hot, hotter and hottest…aside from the rainy seasons, of course..haha…:)

I just got back from pleasantly warm Singapore (I loved it, BTW) to the cold and rainy Switzerland, so my attitude towards autumn currently leans towards “hate”, hehe. But, I can definitely get your point about appreciating seasons. I think, I would start to miss seasons at some point, if I would live in a place like Singapore.

Haha, I think you came at a time when Singapore was having mild weather. It’s been quite chilly recently, not so much humidity so you came at a perfect time..haha Glad that you enjoyed your time here! Hopefully the sun will be good and make a lot more appearance for you back home 🙂

Hehe, then I guess it was ideal timing for the visit Singapore. We’ve heard from the locals it is rather chilly, but I find the temperatures ideal. 🙂 Thanks, I hope we get some sun soon. 🙂

Hehe, humidity might get my hair to act crazy, but I think it cannot change how I feel about Singapore. 😉😀

autumn here in Melbourne at least is pretty nice. my favourite season. Not too much rain, still enough warmth from summer. It’s Spring right now and it’s just not warming up at all. Strange….

Sounds like you have a perfect autumn down under. 😉 What are the average temperatures during that time of the year in Melbourne?

I totally feel you. I love and hate autumn at the same time too. Hating the fact that summer is over and sunshine and warm days are gone. But at the same time enjoying colourful autumn foliage and crispy days. Until cold and miserable autumn rains arrive brrr and depression.

Oh I love Autumn! But I understand the bleakness others can feel because of the cold and darker days. But those festivals seem like kids of fun 😊

I feel you, I have the same relationship with autumn 😉 Some days I love it, while on others I don’t even want to get out of bed…

Autumn has never been my favorite season either. The combination of cold and rain is most unpleasant (which is why I’m not a fan of spring either); I’d rather it be cold and snowy. For that reason, I much prefer summer and winter over autumn. But it does have it’s perks!

I think we both feel the same about autumn – I don’t like it for the same reasons as you. I’m not the huge fan of spring either, but then I can bear all the rain because I know what follows is warmth and sun.
