Summer evening in Luzern

Few days ago, when the sunny weather and summer temperatures finally reached Switzerland, I went for an evening cycle ride around Lucerne. Despite I already walked and cycled those areas many times before, I massively enjoyed the ride. It was great to rediscover the beauty of the place I now call home on such a lovely evening.

Hope you’ll enjoy the photos I took during my ride as much as I enjoyed making them.

Lake Lucerne or Vierwaldstättersee as it is called in German is the fourth largest lake in Switzerland.

Vierwaldstättersee (Lake Lucerne) is surrounded by the hills and mountains. Here you can see two of them: Stanserhorn (left) and Pilatus (right)

Looks like the absolute perfect evening in Lucern! We’re headed to Lake Constance soon and I’m making a special trip into Switzerland (finally!) to check out the Rhine Falls! I wish we could go to Lucern or Bern or something! I was in Switzerland as a kid and remember how beautiful it was! #CityTripping

Awesome! Rhine Falls are lovely! I think with all the rain and water they are especially spectacular this year. 😉 Luzern is only app. hour and half away from the falls 😉 But instead of wasting time for driving, I would suggest you visiting Schaffhausen nearby the falls. It is lovely little town. 😉

I love the first photo! It is so summery. There’s nothing as delightful as going on a bike ride or long walk and then cooling off in the lake.

Really great photos. We drove past Lake Lucerne on our way back from Italy. Would have loved to stop and have a wander around the city (especially after reading your posts on it) but we didn’t have time. Thanks for linking to #citytripping

Thank you dear! Such a shame you didn’t have time to stop. Perhaps next time. 😉 Thanks for hosting #citytripping. 🙂

I definitely must get to Switzerland sometime soon. It’s so beautiful! I’ve stayed away because it’s reportedly so expensive but the exchange rate is as good as it gets now, so it’s a perfect time to go.

Yes, Switzerland is definitely expensive, but is well worth the visit. It definitely depends on what you want to do and see – some trips to the mountains are super expensive, food at the restaurants and the accommodation are not cheap, but if you do your research and plan your trip well, it is not necessarily as expensive as one might expect.
