Nice pics. Brings back nice memories of our visit though it was pouring rain when we went and we couldn’t see the mountains surrounding the city. But we still enjoyed our time in Luzern. (Suzanne)
So pretty! We spent a half-day in Switzerland while in Italy this spring, and I so wanted to make it to Luzern but we didn’t have time. It looks so lovely and quaint!
If you had limited time, you’ve made a right decision. Though, a day trip to Luzern from Milan or Como in Northern Italy is doable – of course if you travel by car and there are no traffic jams at the Gotthard tunnel. 😉
We actually took the train from Tirano to St. Moritz. St. Moritz wouldn’t have been my first choice, but I was a bit puzzled by the inter-country train system when trying to figure it out online from the U.S. so we ended up using a tour company that handled everything from Milan to Switzerland and back. Since we only had one day, it ended up being the perfect way to get a glimpse of the Alps and a small taste of Switzerland, but some day I plan to spend a lot more time there. Switzerland is so beautiful!
Oh, then it was no way you would squeeze trip to Luzern to your itinerary. 🙂 I’m glad you liked Switzerland. It’s great country. I’ve never been to St Moritz, but I’ve heard it is beautiful. I hope I’ll be able to get there this winter. 🙂
I can see why you couldn’t resist taking some photos – such a lovely day. I love the architecture of the buildings and it is so nice when they are sitting on the water like that!
Lucern definitely looks lovely in the fall, but i really just can’t bring myself to go at this time! I went once as a teen in the spring because I remember the bridge being covered in flowers and if I ever go back, thats when I would want to go! I’m sure its beautiful any time of year though! #CityTripping
I think summer is the best time to visit Lucerne. The weather is usually good, you can hang out by the lake etc. Autumn is colourful, but the weather usually isn’t the best. We get a lot of foggy and rainy days.
Wow, the sky is so blue!
I can’t believe how nice the weather is at the moment – not like November at all!

I agree, it doesn’t feel like November. It’s incredibly warm. Yesterday I went to town wearing my trench and was feeling hot in it. Crazy.
