Blast from the Past: Küssnacht am Rigi

Previous summer my boyfriend and I explored Central Switzerland on bikes. On one of our cycling trips we’ve visited Küssnacht am Rigi, a lovely village in canton Schwyz. It is located in the gorgeous setting between two lakes (Lake Zug and Lake Lucerne) in the shadow of “Queen of the Mountains” Mount Rigi.

Here are some photos we took while exploring the city on our bikes on sunny Sunday.

We loved the central Switzerland region Urska – we stayed a few times in Lucerne and also Weggis as we loved it so much! We took the boat into Lucerne or round the lake but sometimes it was easier to take the bus and connect to the train at Kuessnacht Am Rigi. It’s so beautiful! One night we’d missed the bus at Kuessnacht and so a kind local family gave us a lift back to our hotel in Weggis – turned out their daughter was travelling in south east Asia and was hoping to come to Australia as she wanted to travel and see more of the world. It was funny as she was rather bored with life in Kuessnacht whereas we, coming from Australia, loved it (I guess we all want to see different places from where we actually live!). Beautiful photos! 😉

Thank you Rosemary for your compliment and for your anecdote.
I guess, many of us strive to explore the world outside our home environment. To experience different cultures, different way of life… After some time, we get too used of everything and stop appreciating the beauty our home environment. Sometimes we just need to spend some time away to be able to see how beautiful and exciting our home actually is.
